Our preschool program is an enriched, well balanced program that builds on their previous experiences as a toddler. These new preschoolers are capable and competent students, exploring the world around them through intentional play and inquiry. Teachers intentionally lay the foundation for stimulating pre-academic learning by tapping into the children’s interests. Every activity and experience the teachers offer target pre reading and pre writing skills as well as each area of development. All of these experiences are provided in outdoor and indoor environments.


Social/Emotional Development:

  • Is comfortable with classroom routines and schedule
  • Gains confidence in social interactions, i.e. engages in cooperative play, initiates play, begins to negotiate and problem solve with peers
  • Begins to show respect for peers, teachers and classroom equipment and materials

Cognitive Development:

  • Engages in specific activities that build on previous understandings, i.e. shapes, colors, letters, math concepts, small motor activities
  • Introduced to letters and sounds through ZOOPHONICS program and begins to recognize the 1st letter of their name
  • Introduced to simple preschool math concepts
  • Develops simple critical and creative thinking skills
  • Self-direction

Language Development:

  • Engages in simple conversations and Initiates conversation
  • Begins to follow simple directions
  • Exposed to the written word everyday through books, labeled items in the classroom, etc.
  • Shows an interest in learning new concepts and ideas

Creative/Spiritual Development:

  • Engages in daily music as well as music enrichment once a week. As the child matures and gains control of body, breath and voice his/her behaviors grow more defined and musically accurate
  • Participates in using a wide variety of open-ended art materials
  • Participates in chapel while learning simple spiritual concepts, i.e. learning about kindness and making friends

Physical Development:

  • Gains confidence in taking risks while on the playground
  • Uses small motor muscles to manipulate puzzles, crayons and other small table top activities
